Indian Harbour NS Canada

Indian Harbour (close to Peggy’s Cove, there are lots of Indian Harbours) is a truly lovely location. And when you wake up to a view like this on such a fabulous morning, well, it doesn’t get much better!

George (aged 3) and Andy enjoying BV
The plan was to join Russ and his family at the house for an afternoon party with Elizabeth’s family and friends from the local area.  Before that, however, to say thank you to them for letting us gate-crash their holiday, we had some of them on board for a tour of BV.  And George (aged 3) who gets super-excited about going fast, absolutely loved his high-speed dinghy ride with me.

Photos of the party to be added

Unfortunately, I was just a bit useless at taking pictures at the party.  No, I was not just a bit useless, I was absolutely useless!  I got no photos at all.  But we did have a great time and Russ did a fab job with the barbecue (grill) and it was hard to leave but leave we had to as we were planning on a prompt start the next day to continue westwards.

Retrieving my camera
So, after a lovely day we returned to BV and packed up the dinghy (a half-hour evolution) ready for an early start. At which point the phone bleeped – Russ had found my camera.  Cue some unprintable words.  We unpacked the dinghy and re-inflated it and, as darkness descended I did a rapid run back to the beach where they were all enjoying another fire.  Happily, since there was a coastguard officer amongst the assembled party, I had the presence of mind to fit the nav lights to the dinghy and take a torch!  Camera retrieved (and it was oh, so tempting to stay for a little longer) I returned to BV and we went through the ‘put the dinghy to bed’ drills once again, by which time it was properly dark.  But we had been fed so well by Russ’ team that we didn’t need to eat and so could just fall into bed, ready for a prompt start the next morning.  It had been a lovely, lovely day.
