Puerto de Morro Jable Fuerteventura (Part 3)

The anchorage looking much more civilised
Being so close to such a great beach we had to click into holiday mode and take advantage of it. The cloudy skies of the previous day had cleared and we were treated to beautiful a blue sky and bright sunshine. We followed our now well-trodden path up over the small hill between the port and the beach area. With the bright sunshine, the shallow sandy areas glowed a lovely turquoise colour and it was very obvious why the resort had been built here.

Wandering around we heard all sorts languages being spoken by holidaymakers but Morro Jable has apparently always been particularly popular with the Germans. That is very evident around the bars and shops with nearly all of the signs being written in Spanish, English and German.

We found a nice spot to base ourselves on the nearer end of the beach. The water was very inviting and I was very glad that had I brought my facemask with me because just off the shoreline is a rocky area teaming with a wide variety of fish. I counted over 20 different varieties in what was really quite a small area.

The soft sand was perfect for lazing on and so we all managed a bit of sun worship and snoozing; perfect holiday activities and, as a result, Morro Jable seemed to get a big tick from our holiday guests.
