St Goustin Quarter |
Having anchored off Le Rocher near Bono, it was a 30min trip
in the tender to Auray, where we moored the dinghy to a pontoon near the old
quarter, St Goustan. Auray still has
many very picturesue 15C houses and buildings, particularly in the St Goustan
Quarter, so it was pleasure to wander around. We also enjoyed some café stops
and a very pleasant lunch out as well as stocking up on food and wine.
Unfortunately, visiting on Tuesday 4 September, we’d missed the Monday market
which is reported to be one of the best in Brittany. Perhaps as good an excuse
as any to visit Auray again.
The dinghy ride back to BV gave us the opportunity to take some great photos of BV at anchor, and then it was time to relax in the cockpit and enjoy dinner.
