Europa Point

Europa Point Lighthouse
During our last visit to Gibraltar we never managed to get to Europa Point at the most southern tip of Gibraltar. The lighthouse here, which dates back to 1841, is unusual in that it is the only one outside the UK which is regulated by Trinity House.

As well as the views towards Morocco you also get a very different view of The Rock highlighting how narrow the ridgeline is.

Gibraltar’s mosque, built in 1997, sits at this end of the peninsular and, in typical Gibraltan style, there are more guns which defended the southern approaches.
