Ormiskos Pigadhi

We left the anchorage off the beach at Koukounaries at a very civilised 1020hrs on 27 July. Conditions were very similar to the last time we made this passage on 12 July so we hoisted our spinnaker (MPS). As before the bright yellow, red and blue sail seemed to attract other yachts, which diverted to pass us close by to take photos.

We headed for Ormiskos Pigadhi on the western side of the entrance to the Gulf of Volos. It’s a convenient location to break up the journey to Volos and we were able to moor on the quay, which was convenient. The water is very clear in the bay/harbour and so we swam to cool off. Temperatures are around 36 degrees Celsius in the day and it’s normally just over 30 degrees in the cabin so swimming and showering are a welcome break from the heat.

Charlotte and Sophie’s days on holiday are fast running out but we still maintained their ‘tradition’ of cocktails for sundowners. It was a nice way to spend the evening whilst the charcoal was heating up on the barbecue.
