Mdina (Part 2)

Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux Hotel (L) and Town Hall (R)

Having completed our tour of the cathedral we retraced our steps around the city passing the rather pleasant Il Kunsill square. Here we found the 17th Century Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux (now a 5 star hotel) and, facing it, the Town Hall; both are extremely buildings.

We, however, were on our way to the Fontanella Tea Garden for lunch. Sheena had visited Malta many times with her parents and the Fontanella Tea Garden had always been a favourite family haunt. There could be no other venue for our lunch stop which was excellent because lunch there was both very pleasant and brought back very happy memories. Lunch was so good in fact that I forgot to take any sensible photographs of the fabulous views towards Valletta so most of what you see above is from the web.

Completing the rest of our circuit of the city we made our way back to the car and set off for the Aviation Museum (a plan made over lunch), which Ollie and Sheena had last visited together over 10 years ago.
